As a child of almost seven, mom let grandad babysit me. He was a wine maker. He had me wash the wine jugs and throw away the old mash and I started pealing the apples or peaches and pitting the strawberries. When I was about ten he started showing me how to put it together. By the time I was eleven years old I made all his wine. It went on ’till he passed when I was fourteen. I made it occasionally until I was about nineteen, then I started to make all kinds for uncles and friends. Made it my whole life. Made improvements on his recipe as I learned of new ways to improve it. As a builder I gave it to my customers, and most told me to sell it. Looking back, I should have not waited until I retired.
